Sammendrag
Su Yansheng, Curator, Director and Professor of the Department of Painting, Fine Art School, Shanghai Normal University.

The cultural construction of the digital age has brought about rapid changes in contemporary art. Printmaking corresponds to digital media and the benefits from new technologies and diversity of production. Under the impact and influence of new media, print artists may apply technology to search for new visual symbols, by maintaining the original language to achieve a balance between the process of change and conservation.

"The 5th Shanghai Intaglio Exhibition" is based on the academic promotion of copperplate engraving. It is an opportunity for new forms of printmaking to be presented in an era of "post-printing" and "post-image". This exhibition brings together the famous intaglio prints created by renowned art academies and famous Chinese and foreign printmaking artists in recent years. The institutions invited to participate in the exhibition include: Central Academy of Fine Arts, Fine Arts Academy of Tsinghua University, China Academy of Art, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, Hubei Academy of Fine Arts, Nanjing Art Institute, Central China Normal University of Fine Arts, China National People's University Academy of Fine Arts, Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, Shanghai Normal University Academy of Fine Arts and other arts institutions. In addition to China, there are also printmaking artists from Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, Norway, Poland, and Canada. There are more than 120 works by more than 120 artists.
