Installation at 5th RIGA INTERNATIONAL TEXTILE AND FIBRE ART TRIENNIAL - Tradition&Innovation. Theme: DIVERSITY&UNITY. Organized by the Latvian National Museum of Art/ Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, Riga, Latvia. Exhibition in the Exhibition Hall Arsenāls from 23 April–10 June, 2015. Artificial flowers growing in papier-mâche pots. In my installation «Similar, yet unique” I wish to emphasize unity as a cornerstone in society – a unity that allows individual growth. An international community appeals to me. As a reference to the 28 countries in the EU I have planted 28 pieces of paper thread in 28 pots with peat, hoping for growth. They might seem similar, but each one is unique.
