Abstract
As the first Academy Lecture of the semester, FRANK has invited MYCKET in conversation about patriarchal walls, Trojan Horses and the body politics of The Club Scene. The conversational lecture will be happening in conjunction with the feminist magazine Fett’s 10 year anniversary, and followed up with a happening at Maksitaksi, Thursday 4 September.

MYCKET is a collaboration between designer Mariana Alves, and Katarina Bonnevier & Thérèse Kristiansson, both architects and artists. Together they seek to research and transform how aesthetic expressions effect human activities from intersectional perspectives, such as anti-racist and queer-feminist, a practice informed by the theatrical, the carnivalesque and the activist. In January 2014 MYCKET embarked on a three-year research project at the Architecture and Design Center, Stockholm. The research is a continuation of the project The Club Scene, which seeks to expand the formal field used to generate and present architectural knowledge through a series of re-enactments of more or less recent historical queer club scenes. The motive behind The Club Scene is the challenge and investigation of critical fiction; the endeavor to work with, to wear, tear and tweak the strange border control where fiction gets separated from reality, suggestions from analysis. www.mycket.org

FRANK is an Oslo based platform run by the Norwegian artists Liv Bugge and Sille Storihle, established to nurture art and critical discourse revolving around gender issues, desire, and sexuality. The platform operates in different locations and with various co-curators. Since April 2012, FRANK has developed a practice where Bugge and Storihle function as hosts, curators, and editors. The work they do with FRANK is intertwined with their individual artistic practices, and aims at building community while creating discussions that address hegemonic structures in society. www.f-r-a-n-k.org
