Abstract

NO: Oppgaven undersøker animasjon som medium og dens kompliserte historie som industri. Ved å engasjere seg i Sergei Eisensteins og Walter Benjamins refleksjoner rundt animasjon og diskutere problematiske aspekter rundt dens opprinnelse, tar oppgaven sikte på å initiere en dialog mellom animasjon i dag og utopiske idealer og begravde kropper fra fortiden.

ENG: The research paper examines animation as a medium and its complicated history as an industry. By engaging with Sergei Eisenstein’s and Walter Benjamin’s reflections on animation and discussing problematic aspects concerning its origins, the paper aims to initiate a dialogue between animation today and the utopian ideals and buried bodies of its past.
