LACKING A GRAND NARRATIVE, WE CARRY TINY MYTHOLOGIES
Abstract
Dansk:

All stories have a narrator, and no narrator is objective. Lacking A Grand Narrative, We Carry Tiny Mythologies is a project that deals with creating a queer retelling of the myths about the moon goddess Artemis. This project is about being queer, about sexuality, gender, freedom and about a life in self-chosen exile from the heteronormative world order. I have sewn three costumes for Artemis and built a gate as an entrance to the installation. Artemis wanted to dress in hunting clothes, but is always, in art history, depicted in loose dresses or naked. With my costumes, I want to try to bring out a different image of the moon goddess.
I have chosen to curate the project as a scenography. In other words, a place you can step into. Here I have been inspired by role-playing games and fantasy to build a small section of another world, which the public can participate in, if they wish.
